Coachella 2014 – Between dreams and reality…

Image

Well, back to California in April means going to Coachella, the festival of the year that I wouldn’t miss for anything, especially when I’ve seen the 2014’s lineup, just incredible! I couldn’t really tell you what was my fav show because Arcade Fire, Muse, Chromeo, Pharell Williams (with guests!!!), Martin Garrix, SkrillexDisclosure and many others were all INSANELY good!

Memories come drifting in and out of the mind, dreams are confused with reality, but there are always the photos to remind us that yes, it did in fact happen.

HUGE thank you to the Saguaro and Hard Rock Hotel in Palm Springs, were we spent an amazing time, rendez-vous next year for sure!

Sunday Sounds Like – Our Last Night @ Le Batofar

unnamed

It all began few months ago when I came across Our Last Night cover versions of Miley Cyrus, Imagine Dragons, Katy Perry’ songs and many more… they totally got my attention and not only just a little!

I was on the lookout for some fresh tracks, different from all I was listening to at the moment. Needed to go back to basics with good post-hardcore songs (oui oui I have many different musical tastes!). I remembered that I was listening to this american’s band already few years ago. Plenty of my childhood friends come from this scene and sometimes I just love to immerse myself into that kind of music, bringing back such good old memories… Intrigued by the OLN covers, I was curious to discover their own creations and listened to their last album called Oak Island, wasn’t disappointed at all!

This release offers incredible versatility and creativity. The harmony between the two brothers, Trevor and Matt, is strong, flawless and I just felt in love with the mix between super-clean vocals and screams!

I took the opportunity when I heard about their venue in Paris, went to Le Batofar last sunday night, so curious and excited to see the guys performing live! A great moment, despite the fact I was feeling a bit “too old” surrounded by teenagers ;) ! Anyway, the show was a complete success, full of energy. The band has been able to captivate real emotions and impressed the audience with incredible guitar’s works and vocals. We jumped, danced, like crazy!

Those cool guys are definitely part of my Top10 best musical surprise and something tells me that it wasn’t our last night, we should probably meet them again, next time on their own continent…  Keep you posted! xx Bisous, K.

P.S L.A I Love You!

IMG_1087

For my first night in LA, I had an amazing diner at Soho House West Hollywood with my L.A based friends, been to Chateau Marmont for drinks and went to a party on Sunset Boulevard with the most known and talented electronic french duo in the world… get lucky ;)! So OUI, L.A is still the city of dreams!!!

One week where I really did what I like the most there: Having my morning juice in terrace at Urth Caffe, hiking in the Hollywood Hills, driving on Sunset Boulevard, shopping on Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, going to see a basketball game in the legendary Staples Center, eating DELICIOUS seafood in Malibu, having diner in le patio at Chateau Marmont, staying at Le Petit Ermitage hotel in Beverly Hills, spending time on Melrose and much more…..

A special “clin d’oeil” to my friend Bénédicte with who I spent this crazy journey <3

Road trip on the Golden Coast – From San Francisco to Los Angeles

IMG_2473[1]

I was back on the road right after my trip to Coachella and  discovered a new part of the golden coast, made the spectacular drive down the Pacific Coast Highway from San Francisco to Los Angeles. So cliché I know :)  It was a real travel experience that I truly enjoyed and one that I will remember forever…

We first stopped by the charming city of Carmel By-The-Sea. Getting a look to the historical Clint Eastwood’s Mission Ranch, walking down the beach surrounded by majestic Cypress trees, exploring the city and its lovely cottages…  Carmel streets are lined with galleries and shops of all descriptions, you can easily find everything that you need within a few blocks!!

After our lunch on the sandy-white beach we drove to the Julia Pfeiffer Burns state Park, stopped by Big Sur to see the AWESOME McWay waterfalls…The McWay Falls is a very dramatic waterfall crashing into the ocean, makes you feel like you were somewhere tropical, one of the most beautiful spot I’ve never seen in California!

We finally arrived late at night in Los Angeles and ended up this wonderful jouney with sweet dreams!

I really recommend you too taking a trip to nowhere sometime! It’s so good to leave  and escape…

With love, K.
